What is Black Woman Therapy?

Mental health therapy with Black women aims to help Black women address and overcome psychological and emotional challenges, with their Blackness centered as an important part of their experiences. Our therapists use various therapeutic approaches and techniques to support Black women in understanding their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and interpersonal dynamics.

Common symptoms of depression in Black women include: sleep disturbances, self-criticism, irritability, low mood, feelings of sadness, difficulty in making decisions, loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyed, diminished or increased appetite, and physical symptoms (headaches, stomachaches, irritable bowels).
